so we're semi-settled in portland, actually made it here in one piece, amazingly. the drive was a bit rough. we got stopped trying to cross the CA/OR boarder because of SNOW. snow flurries to be exact. driving in snow flurries, INVIGORATING&TERRIFYING. point is, we're here. sort of moved in, not very unpacked at all. but wow, the apartment is so cute. so effing cute you would all die. my dad was here for two days, it was so sweet. he stayed an extra day because i was so bummed he was going to leave. seriously i have the most adorable dad ever. he left this morning and saying goodbye to him was so hard. he helped steven and i SO MUCH. he built us a custom kitchen table, c'mon! so wonderful. yesterday after steven filled out his rental application (why he had to i'm not entirely sure) he got this call saying he owed the city of forest grove $116, for unknown reasons, and that he HAD TO TAKE CARE OF IT THAT AFTERNOON, OR ELSE. luckily my dad offered to drive him, which would have been a 2-3 hour excursion on public transit. so thankfully it was all cleared up in a timely fashion and my dream was realized, i got to see FOREST GROVE. the tiny town i heard so much about, that steven refused to ever take me, (the town that steven went to college in). so steven's going to sign the lease and everything tomorrow, yay! he was nervous he wasn't going to pass the credit check, but he did, so no sneaking in and out of the building and only having one set of keys!
so this morning my dad left, *tear* :'( i know i'm drunk and so homo, using emo-cons and everything. my parents are so wonderful. i love them. got a bit homesick today, just knowing i'm so far from the people i love, and those who know me best. but i am completely in love with this place, and i have my stevie beans and madie here.
today steven and i wondered around our amazing neighborhood OMG IT'S SO GOOD. we're so close to everything. we walked to the goodwill after getting breakfast and bought a microwave, for $25, no sales tax! yeah, it totally rules. then we went to ace, again right down the street, got fishing line to hang pictures from. walked a bit further to the pearl to go to powell's. powell's is the most ridiculously amazing bookstore ever. it's the length of a city block and four stories high. each room is a different color with a different genre. after, we wondered back closer to our house, drank some espresso and waited for 5:30, when synecdoche, new york was playing at the theatre down the street. ok you guys, mission theatre, portland oregon. amazing. the tickets to the movie were only $3, and you could drink and eat inside of the theatre. amazing. so many good things so close to us. i'm too drunk to continue writing this, but i love everyone. i love love steven hoffman. i miss murphy. i miss maxwell and my dad and my mom. MEOW!

can't wait to come visit seeing as you and Christmas will be in the same CITY as of September, yeahhH!
