outfit/i can make stuff post

i'd been working on this crop top for a couple of days. it took much longer than expected as i kept getting interrupted by stuff and threading strands of elastic through lace hems was a pain in the ass. i really like it! i've worn it nearly everyday since i finished it.

beach and birthdays

Thursday was my boyf's only day off this week, so i took the day off and we went to the beach!




it was a beautiful day, but still a bit too cold to get in the water. amazingly, i didn't get sunburned! not even a little bit!! shocking.

yesterday was my grandma's 80th birthday, happy birthday grams! saw lots of adorable family pictures, ate too much and didn't take any pictures.

then THIS happened.

jk this is ALWAYS happening and i can't handle it.

Its been a rough few weeks. I've been feeling beaten down so I decided to do something totally frivolous. So here is a shitty collage I made of items I want for the summer

stoked on life

yes i am indeed feeling quite stoked on life right about now. i've been so frustrated about not having a job, it just feels like i'm a drain on other people's resources and i hate it. and job hunting is always daunting and frustrating. but today i got two different calls about jobs! finally after sending out SO many resumes and emails and walking my butt all over long beach, a response! one was for a job that i had already had one follow up email response about. i may be getting a potential interview for this week or next. the other was out of the blue! even if nothing comes from either it's just encouraging to hear something. i bought a celebratory box of hair dye, lord knows dying my hair is more fun for me than most people.

i made sushi the other night for the first time and it was a complete success! naysayers be damned! sushi rice is a pain to make but not as impossible as everyone says, so suck it dude that works at whole foods that told me to buy pre-made sushi rice. a picture because it's pretty and i'm way too proud.
