donkey kong

OH HI THERE GUYS. i'm already such a lame blogger, not updating. lately my life has consisted of putting together furniture and watching steven play video games. currently he's playing donkey kong country: 3. oh yes. it's true. oh man right now he's a tiny elephant shooting himself out of barrels (so cute and so confusing, i thought this game was about monkeys?)

so furniture update: 2 days ago, in a fit of determination, i marched over to the william temple thrift store, approximately 3 blocks away. my plan was to buy a basket and maybe some wall hangings, both i found right away. now, small backstory, i had seen this amazing chair a few days prior, but steven refused to attempt carrying it to our apartment. i've been thinking about it for days, plotting how i could possibly strap it to myself or maybe i could bribe one of the workers into lending me a dolly. so once i found a basket i went to go sit and admire my chair, but i couldn't find it at first. i searched and discovered they had moved it to the back. that was the final straw, i went to purchase my items and found out that i could borrow a dolly no bribing necessary! so i surprised steven and managed to get it home, receiving many strange looks along the way. did i mention it's green and has a matching ottoman? oh yes. today i put together a desk i purchased at target yesterday thanks to madie and her mom, and her mom's car. the apartment is becoming so nice and homey. i will take pictures (if anyone cares) as soon as it's all done.

not a whole lot to mention though, mostly i've just been cooking and playing nintendo. i signed up for a twitter, i had one but i completely forgot about it, even the username. so if anyone is on twitter plz follow me. also been discovering so many cute places to go. trying to save my moneys though. we live right around the corner from some amazing bars. the other night we went to two of them, tony's and the matador. tony's is pretty much an authentic dive. wooden booths and red lights everywhere. we were the only people under 40, everyone in there was a regular and they all knew each other. some amazing old man bought the whole bar 2 rounds, and then another for just me and steven. he reminded me of boomhower from king of the hill, because for the life of me i couldn't tell what the hell he was saying. so steven and i got pretty wasted for free, even though pints were only $1.75! and they have a "depression fighter" special 9am to noon, dollar pints $3 small pitchers. and then happy hour is noon to seven! what?! best bar ever. ok so we were drinking it up, steven gave me a couple of bucks to put on the jukebox. once our songs were over, the previously mention old money bags, gives steven and i $5 to put more songs on. $5 on the that jukebox bought 23 songs! once those song were all over we headed next door to the matador. basically it's a mix of the cha cha lounge and the v-room, but less lame and also more lame? needless to say it's pretty sweet. drinks are pretty cheap, there are paintings of matadors all over it, AND there's a photo booth. black&white, real film, photo booth. YUS. god, i really love portland. there are just so many amazing places. i want all of you to come live here with me! please? ok thanks.

sidenote: steven is now a spider wearing sneakers in donkey kong.

i suppose i should be doing something productive so i'll BRB, TTYL KIT
