it's impossible to find a job here, unless you're an experienced line cook or a cpa, at least those are the majority of listings on craiglist. i am thinking about making clothes and selling them on ebay. suzy luke part deux? except less legit, and more lazy. i think i'll give it a try, not entirely sure if it will be worth the effort, or if it will even be profitable. but it might be nice to start making things again. actually did do some sewing recently
A dress i made out of a men's dress shirt. kind of a shitty picture because i'm too lazy to use my actual camera and upload real pictures, phone pics will have to suffice. it was pretty easy to make. there's this GIGANTIC goodwill outlet store (omg i know, how is that even possible?) it's called "the bins" because they just dump massive amounts of clothing into long bins, think farm animal feeding troughs, but huge and with clothes. the best part, they charge by weight. as the weight increases the prices drops. but i think it's something like $1.50 or so a pound under like 10lbs. granted, the clothes are not always the best quality but i bet i could find some good stuff to destroy/rework. and at 10cents a shirt it might actually be worth it. this shirt was $5 at the thrift store down the street, but i had this idea and it was the only shirt i could find that wasn't flannel (i wanted it to be cool for summer). the color is kind of fug, but it was a test of sorts.
a shot of the detailing. i used the seam/closures above the cuff as psuedo boob darts. I realize it's hard to tell from this picture though. i also made a bow out of the cuff piece but i haven't sewn it on yet. i really wish i had my dress form! i miss yasmine, even if she was a total piece of shit.anyway i'll keep you updated if i manage to actually make anything, maybe you could buy it so i could have money to get drunk. i mean support my education.
i also sewed a patch on to a sweater of steven's. i bought it for him, but it's volcom and had the little diamond thing so he never wore it. i'd been meaning to do something with it forever but i could never think of what i could cover the logo with. then it just came to me (lame, i know)

bad quality, and i couldn't for the life of me hold still. but it's an anatomical heart. i made my own embroidery thread because i don't have any! meaning i just used 3 pieces of regular thread. i miss all my fabric and cool stuff, lace, buttons etc! ugh i miss SAS so bad, do any other fabric stores like that even exist? i'm inclined to think no. i will find a cool fabric store goddammitttt.
well i'm going to go eat a veggie burger now.
